The Sheets.

Stuck between the sheets, I forget to breathe sometimes, held hostage by my pit of self-pity. My fingers are numb, burdened with the fear of what’s to come. My ears […]

How to make it in the world of writing?

I know it’s easier said than done. The feeling you get when you get rejected is horrible. You feel as if someone has physically said “your work isn’t good enough,” but I’m here to tell you that, that is not the case! More often than not, the only reason magazines reject your work is because it just doesn’t fit with their theme and their criteria. It’s not a commentary on your writing, it’s genuinely them and not you. I was rejected by two magazines before I joined Yellow Scribe, it wasn’t nice, but it was an opportunity to grow.

Dimiryat

In the world opposite of humans, legions of fire-beings live in solitude, feasting on bones and rotten carcasses of sickly animals. Seven kings made of the blackened tips of flames […]

Cannabis: You’ve got it all wrong

The subject of Cannabis – a sticky one. Do you accept that it’s unlawfully outlawed – or use it anyway? I don’t endorse illegal activities. I’d just like to let you know that I use Cannabis to medicate my chronic pains, of which I’d been struggling with for the past 10 years of my life. And it works. It really works.

Uniform and yelling killed Education

Growing up as a young child in a British primary school had its negatives, and barely any positives. Uniformity, yelling, and a lack of understanding has lead me to retain a foggy memory of everything I learned, because I ended up blocking out everything including the trauma and even my primary, core education.

Fridays With Afrah!

Hey! Thank you for tuning into ‘Fridays With Afrah.’ Today I will share with you something that I think is truly wrong with the world. The way we are told to or perhaps we have told our selves to act seemingly invincible to everyone that crosses our path. Even when […]
